Crusaid’s vision is a world where people living with HIV and AIDS can live with dignity and have a decent quality of life.

Crusaid’s work ranges from helping AIDS orphans and vulnerable children in Africa, to helping keep aging adults living with HIV and AIDS warm in the UK as they struggle with climbing fuel bills. It’s the extremes of need that Crusaid supports first.

In the UK the charity focuses their efforts through the Crusaid Hardship Fund. The Fund provides support for people living with HIV and AIDS in poverty in the UK. They work with a network of approximately 400 other organisations to help their beneficiaries to lift themselves out of poverty in the long term, get over a difficult patch or return to work to improve the quality of their lives. Crusaid provides funding for everything from the purchase of household goods, payment of utility bills, respite care and education.

Abroad Crusaid work at community level to develop grassroots projects that can act as the catalyst for long term solutions for those communities affected by HIV and AIDS. They call this programme, Points of Light as each project brings help and hope to communities most in need of our help. Crusaid will equip communities with the knowledge and tools to tackle the AIDS epidemic on their door step in a sustainable way. They identify and work with local organisations, capacity building them to take on the Point of Light programme in a way that meets their needs.

All the staff at Outlet have been supporting Crusaid for many years from collection tins in the office and fancy dress pub crawls through to participating annually in the Walk for Life itself. In addition Outlet fully supports and sponsors the annual Wig Party fundraiser whose success has led to the first Points of Light being set up in Zambia. We are excited and optimistic about what this first centre in Zambia could achieve and hope to report back on the success to date by September 2009.

We however feel we can still do more!
