Michelle Jones

Michelle Jones – Sales Co-ordinator

Hello! I’m Michelle, I love cake, The Beatles, France, Property development, travelling, water parks, wrapping presents and cake. Yes I doubly love cake.

I have always had a great interest in 2 things...pets and property. From a young age I had my heart set on becoming a vet, when I was 16 I went on my dream work placement in a vetinary practice. Some may say that fate told me becoming a vet was not for me, as 4 out of 5 of the days in the vet’s theatre, I ended up passing out. Vetinary practise I swiftly found out; was not for me. After that I realised property may be more up my street (excuse the pun) and I was right! I love it, and I haven’t passed out in a property yet! So I would consider that a good start.

Michelle Jones - Q and A

What inspired you to work in property?

Period properties are what inspired me. I remember when I was about 12, re-decorating the front room with my dad in our Victorian house. I started to peel off layer after layer of vibrant wallpaper, which judging by the styles must have been decades old. I started to think about the type of people who used to live in our house, how they used to live and what influenced them to decorate it the way they did.  I love how a property can say so much about a person.

What values do you feel are important in working for Outlet?

I feel that people come to Outlet for the customer service. Therefore I feel a key value is being able to build a relationship with a customer, which comes from being honest and transparent with everything.

Where is your favourite place to live in London?

I lived in East London, specifically Aldgate and then in Hackney for 2 years and I loved living in both. East London has the perfect mixture of green spaces, night life shopping and more importantly has some of the nicest cake shops I have been to! I loved spending my mornings shredding the calories on a run in Victoria Park, and my evenings piling them back on again in a restaurant on Old Street followed by drinks on Hoxton Square.

What are your favourite things to do in London?

I am an awful map reader, so I often get lost in London, but this has its benefits. Whether I am unintentionally or intentionally lost, finding somewhere new is always great fun – especially if it is somewhere where you have lots of green space.

Best night out in London?

I love going out in Shoreditch, there is a great mixture of bars and clubs. I love that it is much more of a casual night out, my friends would say im not one for being a wall flower sat at a table all night! I love to dance all night so a night out in a pair of converse is the best thing ever! I also love the table football and ping pong bars on Old Street.

Most treasured landmark or place of interest?

I love walking around Greenwich Village. The scenery is stunning, the properties are so interesting and varied and the markets are also a great shopping destination for more unique items.

Favourite motto?

“The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago, the second best time is now” – Chinese proverb
“The only way to do great work is to love what you do” – Steve Jobs
“Never eat more than you can lift” – Miss Piggy
