Martin Bartsch

Martin J. Bartsch – Property Consultant

Martin has more than 10 years of experience in the interior and design industry having worked a vast majority of this time for high-end design companies such as the Poltrona Frau Group (Cassina, Cappellini, Poltrona Frau) who manufacture handcrafted furniture of exceptionally high quality and supply interiors as well as leathers to the world's most successful brands such as Emirates, Maserati and Ferrari to name but a few.

After having moved to London he started his career in the design world with BoConcept the Danish Designer Brand and developed his career further within the Terrance Conran emporium and worked on projects, events and installations for and with Zaha Hadid Architects, Louis Vuitton, Vivienne Westwood, Giulio Cappellini, Jasper as well as his father Terrance Conran and met quite a few celebrities out of the music, movie, fashion and sports world.

His passion was always in property and interior - as for himself - he likes to live in a fabulous home. At the same time he knows about the struggles, difficulties and stress with buying and selling property, moving and decorating a house or flat - especially in London. He also knows his way around in other European markets like Germany and Switzerland and knows what it means to move abroad. Well, this probably gave him away... Yes, he is European.

His background and the experience working for multinational corporations reflects his open-minded approach to people and cultures. He is very well aware that people are different. Therefore, you will always receive the best personal service and never an off the shelf short-cut, quick-fix solution to a problem.

Martin J. Bartsch - Q and A

What inspired you to work in property?

My previous career and many years of experience in Design and Architecture. I worked for more than ten years for Design Companies like Cassina, Cappellini, Poltrona Frau, Conran, BoConcept and Vitra and I also liked working with Design Studios such as Zaha Hadid.

Despite this - I'm a very homely person. My home is my sanctuary.

What values do you feel are important in working for Outlet?

Team-work, honesty, drive, entrepreneurship, independence, responsibility and flexibility.

Where is your favourite place to live in London?

I like the variety about London and as such don't have a favourite place to live. There are a few favourite areas where I like to spend my time though – Borough, Clapham, along the river, the Southbank Centre… it really depends on what my plans are – there is a place for everything here in London.

What are your favourite things to do in London?

Meeting friends, seeing shows, having dinner, cycle along the neighbourhoods and actually sometimes also getting away from London, makes it even nicer to return.

Best night out in London?

Delicious food in the company of a good friend or handsome man and discovering new places in London together.

Favourite motto?

Live in the Now!

Martin likes:

Men, fresh unprocessed food, travel, sunshine, mountains, fresh air, my bed

Martin dislikes:

Noise, unaware people, ignorance, egos, diesel or motor engines
