Charity is very close to home at Outlet

Whilst running a very busy life with both the expanding successful businesses and a pretty full time social calendar, Joshua Rafter the boss, tends to signup to all sorts of charity fundraising events too.

He, like most at Outlet, believe in giving back. Just be careful you do not land on his emailing list otherwise you will be badgered for event sponsorship all year round.

London MarathonLondon Marathon in aid of MacMillan
When Josh lost his sister in law to breast cancer at the tender age of 28, leaving behind a bereft husband and two young children he saw the devastation it caused to his loved ones and family. Feeling useless and at a loss of what to do he decided to give the London Marathon ago. By far one of the most difficult challenges of his charity raising efforts he ran in aid of the brilliant work carried out by Macmillan - http://www.macmillan.org.uk

London to BrightonLondon to Brighton in aid of British Heart Foundation
Cycling has always been a favourite pastime of Josh’s (well in the gym anyway) and so it seemed an easy and worthy cause to do the London to Brighton cycle challenge in aid of the British Heart Foundation. However having not cycled on a road for many a year and having just got back from a sluggish holiday in the Middle East he found this charity ride a lot harder than he ever would have thought. Through sweat and pain and at one point a bit of walk up a very steep hill he did finally finish and encourages everyone to do it at least once. - www.bhf.org.uk/l2b

MovemberMovember in aid of Prostate Cancer
In October 2013 Josh decided to get the Outlet posse onboard for a hair growing experience. Unable to convince his fellow colleagues to take the challenge he decided to go it alone this year with the cunning plan to hook everyone into for 2014. His tache growing endeavours can be seen at: http://uk.movember.com/mospace/9480369

Where Inspiration GathersWhere Inspiration Gathers
W.I.G. is Josh’s main charity endeavour where he heads an amazing group of individuals as their chairman in creating progressive and colourful ways of fundraising through various charity events. Over the last ten years they have aimed to change the lives of those affected with HIV and AIDS by raising over £180,000. In 2014 they are set to throw their biggest and most flamboyant fundraiser yet – more details at www.wigparty.org

Bad Christmas Jumper DayBad Christmas Jumper Day for Save the Children
Always ready to get dressed up and even more so in the name of charity the Outlet crew donned their best or worst jumpers for a day of fundraising, silly pictures and whole lot of woolly fun. This event is set to become an annual affair so why not get involved and take part. All the details can be found at: http://www.savethechildren.org.uk/christmas-jumper-day

Tough MudderTough Mudder
Tough Mudder are hardcore 10-12 obstacle courses designed by Special Forces to test your all round strength, stamina, determination and camaraderie. Josh is in the process of cajoling his lovely staff to take part in such a teeth grinding test of their resilience. Watch this space for the 2014 debacle. - http://toughmudder.co.uk
