Martin Legants – Financial Advisor
My name is Martin Legants and I am 36 years old. I was born in Latvia and went to university in Sweden to study political science.
After I finished my studies, I moved to London in 2000 and worked for a few years for Royal Bank Of Scotland (no, it is not my fault it went under- I was just a lowly customer service adviser!). In 2002 I moved to Sydney for a year on a work/holiday visa and worked for several different financial organisations.
Upon my return to London in 2003 I decided to go back to study to obtain a Certificate in Financial Planning- I had made up my mind about my future plans! While studying, I worked in a few bars in Soho so I got to know the area quite well. Some would say too well!
My first mortgage adviser role was for a large corporate estate agency and after two years I joined a smaller, more personal firm. In 2009 some of my colleagues decided to set up their own business, Liddle Perrett Ltd and asked me to join them, which I did and have been there since.
Over the next few years I hope to help Outlet Money grow into a respected financial advice company. My hobbies are reading, travelling and my dog Jack.

Martin Legants - Q and A
What inspired you to work in the financial advice sector?
It is an ever changing environment, you never get bored as no two clients are the same and it is a great feeling to see that what I do can help people to realise their dreams and protect their loved ones.
What values do you feel are important in working for Outlet?
To me, Outlet stands for innovation, professionalism and can-do attitude. Over the years it has grown into a true one-stop shop for a potential landlord, I cannot think of another more suited company in London.
Where is your favourite place to live in London?
I have lived in Mile End, Covent Garden, Streatham and Balham. Without doubt, Balham is my favourite - there are tube and train connections, buses, all the main banks, two big parks within walking distance and most importantly for a foodie like me – a Waitrose on my doorstep.
What are your favourite things to do in London?
If you are tired in London- you are tired of life. I really like foraging in the Borough Market on a Saturday morning, stroll along the South Bank with my partner and meeting my friends in Soho for a fun night out.
Best night out in London?
I would have to say Soho, you can do everything from culture to ehm, abandonment there!
Most treasured landmark or place of interest?
The Tate Modern
Favourite motto?
Future is not what it used to be.
